Below are some useful websites which the pupils might like to use to further practise their French:

Lower School

Primary French

Learn to speak French with Roller and his mates on the BBC Schools French website.

This site is being replaced this year by the new Primary French site (below)

Primary French

Visit the new Primary French website for games, videos and audio. More topics and teacher resources being added as it is developed.

Languages online

An excellent range of activities for primary French. There is the odd reference to crocodiles that is seems unusual, but it is an Australian website! Many of the activities are great fun. Visit the Languages online French website.

Upper School

Quizlet

Offering lots of quizzes and exercises to help you learn new words and practise vocabulary. You can set the site so that you learn from the flashcards, or do exercises under “learn” and “test”, or play games (“Scatter” and “Space Race”)!

This site has exercises to practise your knowledge of all sorts of other subjects apart from French, too! Visit the Quizlet website.

Quia

Another website that offers exercises, many of them arranged as games such as Hangman. Visit the Quia website.

Jimmy P's site

This website offers a number of exercises to practise words and phrases, many at primary level. Visit Jimmy P's website.

BBC

The BBC has superb materials for language learning online. Many of them are aimed at older learners, but are still useful at primary level, such as this video course for beginners.

MFL Sunderland

Lots of and activities and sounds files are provided on this site by modern language teachers in Sunderland. Many are more suitable for secondary pupils, but among the huge range of topics are some that are useful at primary level. Visit the MFL Sunderland website.
