The Sunken Gardens
From this in 1997:

To this in 2004:

The photos speak for themselves, but it never ceases to surprise what a lot we have achieved in 5 years. It has been a learning experience as we have had to contend with hungry deer and scavenging badgers.
We have discovered that deer do not like highly scented plants so that is what we have used along with plants that provide all year round interest and structure.
Gertrude Jekyll would not recognize all the plants we have used but I am sure she would condone the charges which have been necessary - she was a practical woman of her time and we are trying to be practical in ours.
