The Gregg School, a selective co-educational independent day school with a roll of over 330, is a caring and friendly school in which pupils, aged eleven to sixteen, are able to grow and learn with confidence. Exciting learning opportunities exist for children with differing skills and abilities, who are encouraged to reach their full potential in small teaching groups taught by a well-qualified and conscientious staff. Pupils are able to participate in a full curriculum, a wide range of social, cultural and recreational activity, and a strong programme to stimulate personal development. In so doing they develop initiative, a sense of identity and the ability to work co-operatively in a challenging environment.

Among the many strengths to which the school’s last inspection report (2005) referred were its excellent quality of personal relationships, the high proportion of good or very good teaching, the very good support provided for pupils with learning difficulties and the strong support of its parents. It was noted that the quality of the pastoral care contributed to the development of pupils’ self-confidence promoting a climate of openness, trust and respect for others. Thus, the School continues to give a high priority to pupils’ spiritual, moral and cultural development, and to the growth of social communications skills.

The Gregg and St Winifred's Schools Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  It is also committed to opposing all forms of discrimination and ensuring that it provides equal opportunities in employment.
